  Loop 101 Freeway closures continue this weekend



The Arizona Department of Transportation plans these restrictions Aug. 15-18 on the Loop 101 Freeway as part of a project to construct high occupancy vehicle lanes:

  • The southbound lanes of the Loop 101 Freeway will be completely closed between Chaparral Road and the Loop 202 Freeway from 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, through 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18. Northbound traffic on this segment will not be affected by these restrictions. The detour route for this closure is Chaparral Road west to Hayden Road, Hayden south to McKellips Road, McKellips east back to the Loop 101 Freeway.
  • ADOT also plans to close the center and left northbound lanes of the Loop 101 Freeway between Shea Boulevard and the Pima/Princess interchange from 9 p.m. Friday, Aug 15, through 5 a.m. Monday, Aug 18. The right lane and all ramps will remain open.
