  Scottsdale Road/Frank Lloyd Wright intersection

to be restricted to one lane in all directions

The intersection of Scottsdale Road and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard at times will be restricted to one lane of through traffic and one left-turn lane in all four directions starting the week of Aug. 4.

The restrictions are necessary to permit a series of improvements to the area, including new underground conduit for a 12kv power line, new water lines, new storm drain and reconstruction of the intersection.

The intersection improvements are scheduled for completion in late November.

Business access will be maintained during the project with signs directing motorists to business entry points.

During these same project dates, Scottsdale Road is restricted to one open through lane in each direction from Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard to the Loop 101 Freeway.

The Scottsdale Road improvement project is scheduled for completion between Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Thompson Peak Parkway in spring 2009. It will include bike lanes, a new pedestrian bridge over the CAP Canal, landscaped medians, streetlights, drainage improvements, water and sewer taps for future connections, ADA accessible sidewalk ramps and sidewalks, a multi-use trail, and undergrounded 69kv and 12kv power lines.
