Early ballots for Scottsdale election mailed this week

Voters who have requested early ballots for Scottsdale’s Sept. 2 Mayoral and City Council Election will begin receiving them at the end of this week.

Walk-up early voting for the Sept. 2 Elections starts this Thursday, July 31, at three Maricopa County Election offices. The hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through Friday Aug. 29. The sites are located at:

  • 510 S. Third Ave., Phoenix
  • 111 S. Third Ave., Phoenix
  • 222 E. Javelina, Mesa

On Monday, Aug. 4, walk-up early voting begins at Scottsdale City Hall, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd. Hours will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays through Aug. 28. On Aug. 29, early voting will take place at City Hall from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Residents must be registered to vote by Aug. 4 to participate in the Sept. 2 election.

The deadline for residents to request an early ballot through the mail is 5 p.m. Aug. 22.

The written request must specify where to send the early ballot and must contain a signature for verification purposes. If the ballot will be sent to the address on the resident’s voter registration record, an early ballot may be requested by phone (602)506-1511, or online at: www.recorder.maricopa.gov/EVRequest

The Sept. 2 election includes primaries for the Democratic, Green and Republican parties. Voters who are not affiliated with a party may request a non-partisan ballot to participate in the Scottsdale Mayoral and City Council Election.

Scottsdale voters go to the polls Sept. 2 to elect a mayor and three City Council positions.

Candidates on the ballot are featured in an informational pamphlet now available online at:

In addition to details about the candidates, the pamphlet features information on early voting and voter identification requirements. The pamphlet is being mailed this month to the households of all registered Scottsdale voters. The pamphlet is published in both English and Spanish, in compliance with U.S. Justice Department requirements.
