Citizens invited to view plans for two new fire stations

Scottsdale Fire Department will host a pair of open houses for residents to review plans and provide additional feedback on the design of two new fire stations.

Here are the details:

  • An open house for the Eldorado Park Fire Station 1, to be located on the southwest corner of Eldorado Park, will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3 at the Eldorado Park Community Center (2311 N. Miller Road).

  • An open house for the Cactus Acres Fire Station 8, to be located on the northwest corner of Cactus Road and 96th Street, will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 4 at the Via Linda Senior Center (10440 E. Via Linda Road).

Scottsdale Fire Department has a goal of arriving on the scene of an emergency within four minutes or less, 80 percent of the time. A key factor in reducing response time is the location of fire stations throughout our city.

For more information on either proposed station or open house or contact Project Manager Vivek Galav at (480) 312-7245 or vgalav@ScottsdaleAZ.gov. More information on the fire stations also is available at http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/fire/planforthefuture.asp,
