Scottsdale program encourages local spending
to support city services, amenities & quality of Life
In light of a struggling economy and a challenging business environment, the city of Scottsdale Economic Vitality Office has initiated a campaign to remind residents that consumer spending is a significant component to recovery.
The “You Want It, We Got It” promotion encourages local living in a way that takes advantage of local services, businesses and amenities.
The purpose is to provide visual reminders that supporting businesses is an important step in sustaining vital city services through sales tax revenue. The new Shop Scottsdale program encourages residents and visitors to enjoy life locally by staying, shopping, dining and experiencing Scottsdale...it's all here!
Marketing will include signs on city vehicles, sidewalk decals near city parks, pools, libraries and other municipal facilities, public service announcements on Citycable 11 and the city of Scottsdale web site and information in utility bills and various other city publications.
To help encourage local shopping in downtown Scottsdale a new “T” Trolley Card will soon be available to trolley riders and downtown business to encourage residents to ride the trolley and patronize downtown businesses.
Use of the “T” Card at participating downtown businesses entitles card holders to discounts and specials. Just look for the 'T' in the window of participating businesses. Cards will be available starting July 1 and will be distributed to neighborhood connector and downtown trolley riders, downtown businesses, and at the city of Scottsdale Downtown Office located at 4248 N. Craftsman Court. Cards can also be obtained by calling (480) 312-7750.
