Comment on land use and general plan amendment criteria at final in series of 2014 General Plan Workshops
Scottsdale residents will be asked to consider two issues relating to future land use at a pair of public workshops as part of the 2014 General Plan process. Two sessions will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14 – noon to 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 8 p.m. in SkySong’s Ingenuity Room, 1475 N. Scottsdale Road.
Participants will be asked to provide input on the city’s land use plan, a central component of the Scottsdale General Plan. The land use plan identifies locations and types of land uses that currently exist and are anticipated in the future. These include uses for residential, commercial, industrial, resort/tourism and open space. In addition, attendees will be asked to weigh-in on the criteria that determine the public process for amending the land use plan and other parts of the General Plan.
The two workshops will actively engage community members through the use of hand-held polling devices. Various questions about land use and major amendment criteria will be posed to participants with group responses being visible instantaneously – allowing for a meaningful dialogue on the topics.
Participants can attend either session – identical information will be presented at both. These are the fifth and final in a series of initial workshops being held as part of the 2014 General Plan process. Registration is required and is available here.
