Council to appoint citizens to Channel 11
Programming Commission Oct. 13
Citizens who are interested in serving on a new commission that will advise the city on programming policies for its municipal cable television channel, CityCable 11, are invited to submit applications.
The Council is scheduled to appoint seven members to the commission on Oct. 13. Citizens interested in serving are encouraged to file an application as soon as possible.
Commission applications are available on line at the city’s Web site at http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/Assets/documents/boards/application.pdf and from the City Clerk’s Office at 3939 N. Drinkwater Boulevard.
The commission was established at the recommendation of the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Channel 11, established by Mayor W. J. “Jim” Lane earlier this year. The committee recommended that a permanent commission should be established to review the channel’s programming guidelines, explore partnerships with other organizations for programming and consider the potential for underwriting and sponsorships for programs on the channel.
Each member of the City Council will appoint a member to the commission and Mayor Lane will appoint the chair.
The report of the mayor’s committee and other documents related to their work are available at http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/boards/other/channel11.asp.
