Draft Airpark Plan Ready for Review

Draft Greater Airpark Community Area Plan available for review

Residents are invited to comment on the draft Greater Airpark Community Area Plan which establishes the vision for the Greater Scottsdale Airpark. The plan will provide the basis for Greater Airpark decision making over the next 20 years.

The public can view the draft plan and make comments beginning Thursday, Sept. 17, at this link: Greater Airpark Community Area Plan.  

 

Residents and stakeholders can get more information or comment on the draft plan by going to the Web site, e-mailing Airparkplan@ScottsdaleAZ.gov or calling (480) 312-7800.

City staff also is available to meet with community groups, associations and stakeholders upon request. To arrange a briefing, call (480) 312-7800.

The Planning Commission will discuss the plan in a study session at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at One Civic Center, 7447 E. Indian School Road.  The public is invited to attend, but public comment is not taken at study sessions.

The Greater Airpark Community Area Plan contains goals, policies, and graphics to articulate the vision for the Greater Airpark and the necessary programs to achieve the vision.

The plan focuses on these key areas:

  • Sustaining existing neighborhoods
  • Enhancing mobility and providing better directional signs for getting around the Airpark area
  • Encouraging a variety of land uses and activities
  • Expanding business diversity· Enhancing aviation
  • Encouraging recreation and open space
  • Promoting sustainability and “green” design
  • Enhancing identity and architecture
  • Maintaining and enhancing the area’s regional economic role

The plan establishes a comprehensive, long range vision for how to accomplish these goals.
