  Public invited to grand opening of newest police facility


The public is invited to celebrate the grand opening of the District 1 Police Facility at 10 a.m. Sept. 10.


The facility is located at 7601 E. McKellips Road. The event will feature comments from Scottsdale Mayor W.J. “Jim” Lane, City Manager John Little, Police Chief Alan Rodbell and other dignitaries, culminating in a ceremonial ribbon cutting. Following the ceremony, attendees are invited to take guided tours of the new buildings which include the District 1 police station, crime lab, and the property/evidence facility. Refreshments will be served.
