Downtown Task Force begins meetings on Monday, Aug. 31

   Downtown Task Force begins meetings on Monday, Aug. 31

The new Downtown Task Force will conduct its initial meeting beginning at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31, at 7447 E. Indian School Road, in Community Development Conference Rooms 1, 2 and 3.  The purpose of the kickoff meeting is for member introductions and an informational tour of the Downtown.

The 15-member task force was appointed by the City Council to help implement the recently adopted Downtown Character Area Plan. The task force will explore possible zoning changes as they relate to Downtown Scottsdale; global parking issues in the Downtown; pedestrian amenities to help create better pedestrian traffic flow to Downtown merchants; and transit planning for the Downtown.

Additional meetings are tentatively scheduled on the following dates:

November 9
November 23
December 14
December 28
January 2010 – April 2010 dates to be announced
