Scottsdale residents invited to apply for advisory boards

The Scottsdale City Council invites Scottsdale residents to apply for volunteer positions opening soon for eight boards and commissions.

Openings will occur on the Board of Adjustment, Building Advisory Board of Appeals, Environmental Quality Advisory Board, Historic Preservation Commission, Housing Board, Planning Commission, Neighborhood Enhancement Commission and the Tourism Development Commission.

Applications should be submitted by Tuesday, Sept. 8, to give Council members adequate time for review.

The Council will nominate from the applicant pool on Sept. 22. Those nominated will be interviewed on Oct. 13. Following the interviews, the Council will appoint residents to three-year terms.

A complete listing of vacancies and an application form are available on on the Board and Commission page.

The application form, which is valid for one year, can also be e-mailed to interested residents who call the City Clerk's office at (480) 312-2412, or may be picked up in the City Clerk's office in City Hall, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd.

All board and commission members need to comply with the City's Ethics Code. More information on the Code is also available on the City's Web site.
