Paving to restrict Scottsdale/Frank Lloyd Wright intersection
next week
The Scottsdale Road/Frank Lloyd Wright intersection area will be restricted to one lane in each direction starting Monday, July 20, for about one week to permit paving.
During the project, complete road closures will take place for roughly 15 minutes at a time to permit the curing of asphalt at driveways and intersections. Traffic will be controlled by off-duty police officers during these times.
The specific restriction areas are:
- North and southbound lanes on Scottsdale Road between Mayo and Frank Lloyd Wright boulevards
- East and westbound lanes on Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard between 68th and 76th streets
Once paving is complete, these road segments will require intermittent lane closures into September to permit striping, manhole adjustments and other follow-up work.
In September, the roadway is scheduled to open to its full capacity, three lanes in each direction.

Road work planned this weekend includes westbound Loop 101 restrictions announced by the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The westbound lanes of the Loop 101 Freeway will be closed nightly this weekend between Princess Drive and State Route 51. The recommended detour is Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard west to State Route 51. Between the nightly closures, westbound Loop 101 will be narrowed to two lanes this weekend. Here is the specific closure schedule:
- 10 p.m. Friday, July 17, to 10 a.m. Saturday, July 18
- 10 p.m. Saturday, July 18, to 10 a.m. Sunday, July 19
- 10 p.m. Sunday, July 19, to 5 a.m. Monday, July 20
