“Re-Discover Downtown Scottsdale” Initiative Promoted
via Online Video Tours of Six Downtown Districts
Here's a quick way to get re-acquainted with the many unique offerings in Downtown Scottsdale. Now available online -- three minute video tours of the various districts in this 786 acre area. There are six videos in the series including: Old Town, Waterfront, Fashion Square, SouthBridge, Fifth Avenue, and the Arts District at http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/downtown/videos.asp.
These clips, which are available on the city’s website and the scottsdaledowntown.com website, will be updated periodically to feature special events, new projects, and the ongoing transformation of this area which has undergone a $2 billion public/private investment in the past five years.
The videos were jointly produced by the city’s Downtown Office and the city’s municipal cable office, Citycable 11. Excerpts from the clips are being used by Valley resorts on in-house channels to showcase offerings in the Downtown.
As one of the most acclaimed tourist areas in the state of Arizona, Downtown Scottsdale provides an eclectic mix of southwestern and contemporary art galleries, specialty retail, upscale dining, active nightlife and cultural attractions for residents and visitors alike. This notoriety was recently reinforced by the New York Times, who ranked Downtown Scottsdale No. 9 in its top 31 Places to Go This Summer. The top billing was based on Scottsdale’s luxury hotels, nightlife and summer resort packages.
