Scottsdale and Tempe connecting neighborhood circulators
  provides benefits to both communities

Scottsdale Mayor Mary Manross, Acting Scottsdale City Manager John Little and Tempe Councilmembers Shana Ellis and Onnie Shekerjian joined forces June 12 to celebrate the expansion of Scottsdale’s neighborhood trolley service and connection with Tempe’s Orbit system at the Paiute Neighborhood Center, 6535 E. Osborn Road.

Since Scottsdale expanded the new service in late April of this year, ridership has increased substantially each week.

The six-mile expansion takes riders farther south and west and provides access to more of Scottsdale’s popular destinations and community centers. It also connects with Tempe’s free neighborhood circulator, providing Scottsdale and Tempe residents more destinations and options to use free public transit.

“We’re pleased to connect two incredible communities, Scottsdale and Tempe, with this great system,” said Mayor Manross. “It gives residents in both cities the opportunity to reduce auto trips to run errands, shop and go out for a meal. Connecting these systems also provides additional access to schools, parks and community centers.”
