Scottsdale residents invited to apply for advisory boards
The Scottsdale City Council invites Scottsdale residents to apply for volunteer positions opening this spring on several boards and commissions.
Openings will occur on the Board of Adjustment, Building Advisory Board of Appeals, Citizen Bond Review Commission, Development Review Board, Historic Preservation Commission, Human Relations Commission, Human Services Commission, Library Board, Loss Trust Fund Board, McDowell Sonoran Preserve Commission, Neighborhood Enhancement Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission and Transportation Commission.
Applications should be submitted by Friday, May 22, to give Council members adequate time for review.
The Council will nominate from the applicant pool on June 2. Those nominated will be interviewed on June 23. Following the interviews, the Council will appoint residents to three-year terms.
Current members who have completed a first term are eligible for reappointment to a second term.
A complete listing of vacancies and an application form are available on the city’s Web site at www.ScottsdaleAZ.gov. Follow links for “Mayor, Council and Government” and “Boards and Commissions.”
The application form, which is valid for one year, can also be emailed to interested residents who call the City Clerk's office at (480) 312-2412, or may be picked up in the City Clerk's office in City Hall, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd.
All board and commission members need to comply with the City's Ethics Code. More information on the Code is also available on the City's Web site.
