Workshops on Southern Scottsdale Community Area Plan take
  place May 7-8

Residents are invited to a pair of workshops on May 7-8 to discuss vision themes and priorities for the Southern Scottsdale Community Area Plan.

Participants will be briefed on the results from Vision Week workshops that took place in late March. They also will have an opportunity to comment on the vision themes and priorities that residents viewed as the most important for Southern Scottsdale.

These themes and priorities will build the foundation of the policy document for the area.

Both workshops are scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. on the following dates and locations:

  • May 7, Granite Reef Senior Center cafeteria, 1700 N. Granite Reef Road
  • May 8, Pueblo Elementary School cafeteria, 6320 N. 82nd St.

An on-line survey is also available on the city Web site to comment about Southern Scottsdale’s assets, challenges and provide ideas for the area’s vision. Here’s the link:

The Southern Scottsdale Community Area Plan will include long-range goals for the area, plus policies to help achieve those goals. Some of the topics that will be addressed are land use, sustainability, economic vitality and regional connectivity. Every opinion counts. If you live south of Indian Bend Road, now is the time to get involved in this vital planning process.
