Anti-meth town halls, TV program take place Tuesday
The dangers of methamphetamine abuse will be the subject of a special program aired by television stations across the state at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 15.
The program, entitled "Crystal Darkness," will be aired on Scottsdale’s CityCable Channel 11 following the conclusion of Tuesday's City Council meeting and will be the focus of several special events in the Scottsdale area.
Each Scottsdale Library branch will be showing the program and the Scottsdale Prevention Institute’s Centro de la Familia will have a Spanish-language viewing at 6:30 p.m. at Paiute Park, 6535 E. Osborn Road.
Two area high schools are also hosting town halls. They are:
- Saguaro High School, 6250 N. 82nd St. The program runs from 6 to 8 p.m. in the auditorium. Events include a screening of "Crystal Darkness" followed by a panel discussion. - Horizon High School, 5601 E. Greenway Road. The program runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Events include a screening of "Crystal Darkness" followed by a panel discussion. A sub sandwich meal is available for $5 with proceeds benefiting the "So Fresh So Clean Club" of Horizon High.
