  Mayor Announces Economic Development Summit

Mayor W.J. “Jim” Lane today formally announced that the McDowell Road Corridor/South Scottsdale Economic Development Summit will be held on Saturday, April 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Granite Reef Senior Center, 1700 N. Granite Reef Road.

Mayor Lane had promised to hold such a summit and make this area a priority during his mayoral campaign, and also in his inaugural speech.

“As I said during my inaugural speech, south Scottsdale is full of vibrant, strong neighborhoods and involved residents, but economic development in the area continues to lag. One of my key priorities is changing that, and this summit is an important part of that,” said Mayor Lane.

The summit will be free and open to the public, and people are encouraged to attend.  The summit will cover a number of topics and will include top-notch speakers with diverse backgrounds and interests.

More information and an on-line registration form is available by clicking here

Information also is available by calling the Mayor’s Office at 480-312-2433.

Seating is limited, so interested citizens are encouraged to register.  A tentative agenda for the summit will be posted on the Web site by the end of March.

“South Scottsdale is a great place to live and work,” said Mayor Lane.  All kinds of amenities are in the area or a short drive away, and it will prove to be one of the best places to invest in the entire metro area.”
