City seeks conceptual proposals for site near SkySong

Experienced developers are invited to submit conceptual proposals for the possible development of city-owned land on the northeast corner of 74th and Culver streets in Scottsdale.

The site is about 3.73 acres and is situated adjacent to SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center.  The city is seeking conceptual proposals that involve developing the site in a way that complements SkySong and contributes to the economic development of the McDowell corridor.   Those submitting proposals are encouraged to evaluate the potential of this site on its own or in combination with some neighboring privately owned parcels.

The proposals are to contain enough detail to establish preliminary economic and design feasibility, demonstrate proposer's previous experience in similar projects and outline the community and economic benefits of the project. The proposal should also emphasize how it would encourage further redevelopment along the McDowell Road corridor.

The purpose of the request for conceptual proposals is to elicit ideas for revitalizing the site and the area.  If the city deems any of the proposals warrant further investigation, it would begin a more specific request for proposal bidding process.

The city will hold a conference on Feb. 16 to answer questions from those preparing proposals. Conceptual proposals are due March 12.

Parties interesting in attending the conference should contact the city’s Economic Vitality Department at (480) 312-7989. To find more information on this process, visit:  http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/departments/Economics/revitalization.
