Scottsdale residents invited to apply for advisory boards

The Scottsdale City Council invites Scottsdale residents to apply for volunteer positions on six boards and commissions.

Openings exist on the Industrial Development Authority, the Personnel Board, the McDowell Sonoran Preserve Commission, the Planning Commission, the Scottsdale Pride Commission and the Tourism Development Commission.

Information about the functions of these boards and commissions can be found on the city’s Web site at the Boards and Commission page, www.ScottsdaleAZ.gov/boards.

Applications should be submitted by Friday, Feb. 19, to give Council members adequate time for review.  The application is available on the city’s Web site at www.ScottsdaleAZ.gov.  Follow links for “Mayor, Council and Government” and “Boards and Commissions.”

The application form, which is valid for one year, can also be e-mailed to interested residents who call the City Clerk’s Office at (480) 312-2412, or may be picked up in the City Clerk’s Office in City Hall, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd.

The Council will nominate from the applicant pool on March 2.  Those nominated will be interviewed on March 23 at a City Council meeting.  Following the interviews, the Council will appoint residents to three-year terms.

All board and commission members must comply with the city’s Ethics Code.
Information on the Code is available on the Boards and Commissions Web page referenced above.
