Bus routes to change on Miller and Granite Reef routes
Scottsdale’s Transportation Department will be changing bus routes 76 (Miller Road) and 84 (Granite Reef Road) effective Feb. 16. The changes will eliminate duplicate service in areas currently covered by the free Neighborhood Trolley, which runs every 20 minutes.
Scottsdale’s Transportation Commission voted Jan. 15 to maintain the northern loop of route 76 between Chaparral Road and McDonald Drive until at least June 30. The decision was based on a staff recommendation and came in response to numerous public comments expressing a desire to maintain the northern loop.
The Commission voted to eliminate other segments of routes 76 and 84 because they duplicate neighborhood trolley service.
The service changes approved by the Commission and going into effect Feb. 16 are:
- On Route 76 (Miller Road), the section on Second Street from Drinkwater Boulevard west to Loloma Transit Center will be removed. Transit riders can catch the free Neighborhood Trolley on Drinkwater Boulevard to get to Loloma.
- On Route 84 (Granite Reef) the route will end at Oak Street. The section from Oak Street south to Roosevelt Road and then east to Scottsdale Road will be removed. Riders on this route will be able to catch the free Neighborhood Trolley which travels roughly the same street sections.
