Western on Wednesdays

Dust off the Stetson.

At the request of the Scottsdale Jaycees, Mayor W. J. “Jim” Lane is asking Scottsdale citizens to dress Western on Wednesdays through February in observance of the annual Parada del Sol celebration, which concludes with the annual rodeo this weekend.

Lane proclaimed February “Parada del Sol Month,” and is urging everyone to don boots, jeans and other Western attire on Wednesdays and during Parada events.

Lane read the proclamation at the end of the 200-mile Hashknife Rony Expres ride on Jan. 30 that traditionally kicks off Parada activities.
