Firefighter Candidate Physical Ability Test

How to Register for a Workshop

No classes are currently being offered.

 

Class Location

All classes will be held at the Scottsdale Fire Department Training Facility located at 911 N. Stadem Drive, Tempe. Get a map.

Clothing Requirements

You must wear or bring long pants or sweat pants and wear shoes closed at the toe and heel. This is an exercise class. You will be performing physical activities including crawling on your hands and knees. Wear clothes you are willing to get dirty.

Other Tips

Come hydrated. Drink plenty of water the day before and morning of the class. Avoid coffee or high sugar drinks. Bottled water will be available.

Apply sunscreen. You will be outside in direct sunlight for a few hours. Very little shade is available. Apply sunscreen before you arrive and bring a hat.

Do not exercise before the class. Most students will find the class physically challenging. We recommend that you not exercise prior to the class.

Leave valuables at home or in your car. You will be outside most of the class. We are not responsible for misplaced or lost items. We recommend that you not wear jewelry for safety reasons.
