QUALIFICATIONS
• Any combination of training, education, or experience equivalent to three years experience of Equestrian Facility Maintenance and landscape work.
• Must possess knowledge of Senate Bill 1552 State Air Quality and City Ordinance PM-10 (Particulate Matter).
• Must possess an Arizona Commercial driver’s license (CDL) minimum Class B with air-brake endorsements.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver’s License, with no major driving citations in the last 39 months.
• Must possess knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
• Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Must have the ability to work independently with little or no immediate supervision.
• Must have the ability to work safely in and around traffic, animals (primarily horses) and pedestrians at events.
• Must have the ability to understand and follow proper safety field techniques.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively; establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public.
• Must have the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions including extreme heat.
• Must be able to complete required OSHA/Safety Training as required and city cashiering system.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Personifies leadership and promotes shared responsibility, teamwork and continuous improvement by assisting in planning, organizing, observing and directing a variety of Equestrian and Special Event’s Facility activities. Oversees the work of maintenance staff and provides coverage at all times during events. Ensures proper set-up, tear down and clean up are performed and all facility maintenance along with inventory control and closing out cash system for the WestWorld feed and bedding. Prioritizes and assigns daily work; monitors work to ensure completion and provides daily feedback to Maintenance Worker I’s, Maintenance Worker II’s and contract part-time staff. Develops staff schedules and work assignments and provides training of related equipment/tools. Assists in the maintenance of the safety program, meeting all OSHA standards. Develops safety procedures. Ensures that all maintenance staff follows proper safety methods. Assists staff in performing duties including arena preparation; grounds maintenance; facility maintenance, and may oversee the WestWorld feed and bedding program for a successful operation. Listens and responds to customer requests, inquiries and issues. Keeps manager informed of hazards or problems in the field and takes corrective action; responds to emergencies and changing priorities; recommends improvements. Maintains inventories; assists manager with the preparation of schedules and picks up tools and equipment for assigned area. Operates and maintains a variety of equipment including mowers, front end loader, backhoe, dump truck, boom truck, power sprayer, trencher, tractor, turf sweeper, water trucks, dump trucks, backhoe, forklift, sweeper truck and articulating loader. Uses various hand tools. Continuously evaluates service levels and makes appropriate recommendations to improve efficiency. Assists manager with preparing the maintenance budget for specific area of responsibility. Regularly monitors feed and bedding budget to ensure it is not overspent; orders supplies. Meets regularly with manager to schedule necessary material and equipment for scheduled WestWorld special events; initiates work orders related to building and mechanical maintenance needs. Inspects for and responds to WestWorld public safety hazards; field problems, and emergencies; changes priorities and takes corrective action. Initiates and tracks work orders, performs demand work, route maintenance and customer service for feed and bedding. Inspects WestWorld for public safety and makes recommendations for improved efficiency. Performs other duties as assigned.
