Construction Work on Scottsdale Road Streetscape is Underway
Construction work began in early September on a series of improvements to Scottsdale Road between Roosevelt Street and Earll Drive. Upon completion, the streetscape improvements will enhance the aesthetic of the road, differentiate neighborhoods, provide opportunities for public art, and improve mobility for pedestrian, bicycle and transit travel.
Access to all homes and businesses will be maintained throughout construction. In general, one lane of traffic will be barricaded adjacent to the current work zone. All work will be performed between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. by Achen-Gardner Construction under contract to the City of Scottsdale.
Overall streetscape design guidelines were developed for the entire 24-mile length of Scottsdale Road. Roosevelt Street to Earll Drive will be the first segment to be constructed. The streetscape guidelines establish a design theme for Scottsdale Road that is both symbolic of the City of Scottsdale, and appropriate for this signature street.
